As of 1pm Eastern Time, the outage tracking website Downdetector showed that users reported over 5000 issues, but this data does not fully reflect the scale of service interruptions.
We have started deploying the repair program and are currently repairing the affected environment. During this period, we will begin manually restarting a group of machines that are in an unhealthy state, "the company said on Twitter earlier that day.
At noon, the company stated that repairs have covered approximately 98% of the affected environment, but reports on Downdetector are still increasing. The update may take some time to reach the customer's system.
However, Microsoft subsequently pointed out that these restarts have progressed slower than expected for most affected users and have not yet provided an estimated time for repairs. At 2pm, the company stated that its recovery process is still facing delays.
Although this malfunction has affected the work of many office workers, some American users still enjoyed a brief break before the Thanksgiving holiday.
This year, technological failures have had a serious impact globally, although Microsoft's situation is not as widespread. This summer, software issues with CrowdStrike caused disruptions to air travel, hospital paralysis, and direct losses of over $5 billion for Fortune 500 companies, making it the largest IT failure in history.
